"There’s just something soothing about a chromoly frame. The small diameter tubing offers a muted, calming sensation - the total opposite of some boxy carbon shapes. You get the sense you’re riding smoother lines and being less damaging to your bike."

We made the Reazon to get back to our all-mountain roots. Injecting more fun and play into the trails while still being able to handle itself.

The Reazon takes our learnings from the Darco and Lowdown and strives for a best of both amalgamation. The easiest way to describe it is it’s the Lyrik to the Lowdown’s Zeb. Capable of it all but more fun when being playful and on slightly smaller features. It still has the confidence inspiring ride and near instant familiarity, as with all things Chromag its built to be ridden hard and last the distance.

Possibly put best, the Reazon is simply a mountain bike. There aren't many adventures in which the Reazon wouldn't be able to tag along with you.

☛ Long and slack geometry with upright riding position for sure footed versatility in demanding terrain.
☛ 135mm rear suspension paired with 160mm fork.
☛ 29" wheels (mullet link option).
☛ 4130 heat-treated Chromoly and 6066 T-6 Alloy tubing.
☛ Robust precision hardware and bearings at all pivot points.
☛ Tough, reliable, easy to maintain.
☛ Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate rear shock with reservoir.
☛ ED coated 4130 steel tubing.

If you ordered a full bike, you'll have everything you need to get rolling right away, prior to some minimal setup. Please note that complete bikes do not come with pedals. Check out our unboxing video to see what’s involved.

The Reazon

There’s a certain kind of ride that sticks with you. The ones that start as a big idea and end with dirt on your shins, tired legs, a grin you can’t shake...and maybe a cold drink in hand. That’s the ride we built the Reazon for.

Our goal was to build a bike that feels like a trusted partner on big days: efficient on the climbs, composed in rough terrain, and playful when it counts.

The Reazon sits squarely in the all-mountain category. Updated suspension kinematics offer climbing support and a smooth, stable ride through rough sections. A refined fit—with higher stack and moderated reach—keeps the rider centered and in control. External cable routing makes maintenance easy, and added tire clearance means room for modern, high-volume rubber.

This is a bike for riders who want one ride that can do it all—long pedals, techy singletrack, rough descents, and those surprise features you just can’t skip. Around 36 lbs for a stock build, it’s spec’d for real-world durability and ready to roll.

MATERIALS

As you might expect from any Chromag, The Reazon relies firmly on a 4130 chromoly steel foundation. We believe that the ride characteristics and aesthetics for which our hardtails are known, absolutely translates to a full suspension platform.

However, a dual suspension rig provides different challenges, which is why we opted for 6066 aluminum chainstays and seatstays. Primarily for weight saving and stiffness, housing bearings is more difficult to do in steel. Using a mix of aluminum and steel helps strike the right balance of compliance and rigidity.

The rocker is made from forged aluminum due to its strength/weight ratio and ability to be machined more easily than steel.

key features

Every inch of this bike has been scrutinized, obsessed over and iterated upon.

HEAD TUBE BADGE

Your bike is special. The head tube badge is the finishing touch so we’ve always made a point of taking the time to do something interesting with it. Our head tube badges have changed over the years and are an indication of the time each bike was made.

Whether it’s a cast bronze, or polished stainless steel, water cut aluminum or a 3D CNC carving, each one represents our commitment to detail.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Like all our products, the Reazon was designed with durability and serviceability in mind. The main pivot uses an expanding collet axle system, designed to avoid over-preload and over-constraint of bearings. This results in a main pivot that spins smoother, for longer.

Bearings & Hardware

All pivots spin on Enduro MAX bearings that are well-sealed, long-lasting, and commonly available through most local bike shops or as kits on our website. The pivot hardware is machined from high-strength 7075 aluminum, and the custom-drawn tubing is made from the same 4130 chromoly steel you’ve come to know on our hardtails.

assembly & care

Frames are assembled with plenty of grease, and each one is checked over by one of our mechanics before leaving Chromag HQ.

We're talking chasing threads, facing BB shells and honing seat tubes, to make sure everything fits together perfectly.

Designed for life

Simple and intuitive.

With no hidden hardware, sliders, or concentric multi-link pivots, every pivot can be accessed, bolt-checked, and worked on without taking the whole bike apart. The brake line is also external for the entire length.

Electrophoretic Deposition

Our ED coating is applied by fully submerging the frame in a liquid, to which, an electric field is applied (a bit like anodising). Not only does this completely envelop the frame inside and out, but it provides an incredibly even layer of protection.

This gives our frames great corrosion protection as the inside of all tubes are also coated.

Suspension designed, tuned and honed in the Sea to Sky.

suspension kinematics

We use a 4-bar suspension layout on all our full-suspension frames, featuring a main pivot positioned just above the bottom bracket, a seat tube-mounted rocker link, and a vertically oriented, trunnion-mounted shock. We believe this layout strikes an ideal balance of tuneability, ride quality, elegant simplicity, and clean packaging. The 4-bar design provides enough adjustability for us to precisely dial in the suspension characteristics we’re after—achieving our targets for leverage ratio, progression, anti-squat, and anti-rise. It also allows us to meet our kinematic goals in a straightforward, durable package that’s easy to work on and built to last.

In English: Anti-squat is approximately 108% at sag height. This will give a supportive platform but still allow some suspension activity aiding traction.

The amount of anti-squat reduces consistently over the full travel. As such the Reazon will pedal and behave in a consistent way throughout its travel.

In English: We designed the leverage curve to be both consistent and progressive which equates to a predictable ride both in terms of travel used and suspension damping.

There is 31% progression over the full travel which strikes a great balance of useable suspension travel, small bump compliance, mid stroke support and bottom out resistance. The kinematic is designed to work well with both air and coil shocks.

In English: The anti-rise is consistent throughout the travel, with only a 3% variation across the travel range.

This means that the bike will behave as consistently as possible on the brakes regardless of the size and speed of the impact.

The Reazon is on the more active side of supported.

Energetic, fun and confidence inspiring.

geometry

The Reazon geometry lands it in the modern trail camp. A slack head angle (64°) gives confidence to the front end. The relatively steep seat tube angle (78°) promotes a central position when seated, helping maintain traction and a feeling of being within the wheelbase. Short seat tubes allow a rider to choose a bike based on the reach size they prefer without worry that the seat height/stand over will be a limiting factor. Medium-short chain stays (438mm) and a medium-low bottom bracket (-35mm) balance straight line stability and keep the bike agile, allowing for quick reactions and ripping corners.

The geometry as a whole aims to strike a balance of being playful and quick reacting while retaining stability and confidence when things get hairy. Everything is a balance and we think this balance works great for a large range of riders and trails.

Sizing

If you're between sizes, it's a good idea to try to ride them both, either by hopping on a demo or stealing from a close friend. If that isn't an option, examine reach, stack and ETT numbers on your current bike and compare. If in any doubt, please get in touch and we'd be happy to chat about it with you.

FAQ's

Absolutely! We are working on a mullet link which preserves geometry and increases travel to 140mm.

You'll need to buy the mullet link separately (and a 27.5" rear wheel obviously).

Yes, there is clearance for the larger diameter of a coil and the leverage curve will work well with one. However, we have no current plans to run a model with a coil as standard.

The tune we recommend is R55 C34 (linear rebound, medium compression) this is the same for both air and coil Sram shocks. This is then a 185x55mm Trunnion with 20x8 hardware at the eyelet end.

For spring rates, we recommend using the TF Tuned spring calculator: tftuned.com/spring-calculator.

No. This means fitting a shock that has a longer eye to eye or stroke to get more travel out of a frame. The shock used is the longest stroke in this length.

The travel could be reduced if desired by running a shorter stroke

The Reazon will fit most tires up to 2.5” wide with plenty of mud clearance. Note that most tires do not measure exactly as stated by the manufacturer, and tires from one manufacturer vary greatly to the next.

Yup! The Reazon has an ISCG mount.

The collet axle alleviates pull up at the main pivot making the joint more stable to losing
preload, the suspension action smoother and more consistent and improving bearing life.

All bearings are surrounded, where possible, by large flat surfaces making removal and refitting far easier. There is access to the outer race of all bearings so if a bearing inner race comes out leaving the outer behind it is still possible to remove the outer with simple tools. See exploded diagrams in the tech pack for more info.

If you’re not comfortable removing/installing your own bearings, we strongly recommend bringing your bike to a local bike shop. It’s possible to damage your bike beyond repair if you improperly remove/install your bearings. Such damage would not be covered under our warranty policy.

Spare parts available here.

The Reazon can accommodate a change in fork travel of up to +/- 10mm. Using a 170mm fork will slacken the headtube and seattube angles by about 0.5° and raise the BB. A 150mm fork will do the opposite. Keeping it simple, a longer fork will make the bike more stable at speed, and a shorter one will make it more responsive.

That being said, we designed the bike around a 160mm fork as we think it is well-suited to the character of the bike, striking a good balance of agility and stability.

The Reazon uses a boost rear end (148mm). As such, the chain line should reflect this, typically 51-54mm or a 3mm offset on the chain ring if running SRAM.

With a 52mm chainline (SRAM boost standard), the Reazon can fit up to a 34-tooth chainring.

For context, most of us at HQ are running a 30t, with a 10/52 cassette (and it is bloody steep around here!).

Download the tech pack here for all the juicy details.

Maximum post insertion is given in the geo chart. The number states how deep a straight tube can be inserted into the frame. We are ever so slightly conservative on this number to avoid someone working out to the nearest millimetre then being disappointed. The port height is low enough that the cable/hose shouldn’t ever be a limiting factor in post height. All dropper manufacturers give good diagrams to help work out the length.

You can also check out this guide to help you figure it out.

Not much! You can read in depth about it here, but in short:

• Inflate tires to desired pressure. (Sealant is already installed)
• Install front brake rotor, tightening bolts to 6.2Nm.
• Grease headset bearings, install fork and handlebar, positioning the headset spacers above or below the stem according to rider fit.
• Align handlebar stem, preload headset and tighten stem pinch bolts to 8Nm.
• Install front wheel, tighten axle.
• Grease pedal threads and install pedals using pedal washers supplied.
• Adjust brake levers, shifter, saddle position and height for personal preference.

Great all rounder

Full disclosure, I did design work on this bike, so add as much salt as you like to this.
I’ve spent a lot of time on both the Darco and the Lowdown, to me the Reazon is a great middle ground. It’s capable of just about anything and you don’t need to be on the edge of oblivion to feel alive. If my happiness was dictated by a stopwatch on rough trails or I loved going as fast as possible, I’d be on the Lowdown. If I lived for all day epics and the reward of threading precise lines, I’d choose a Darco. On the Reazon I get the most out of everyday riding situations; (trying to) rip corners, pull for little gaps and create flow. There are loads of great bikes to choose from now, I’m stoked to be on this one.

Reazon

As someone who is a newly supported rider for Chromag, getting the chance to ride something this special before it hits the market is a rare privilege. A few months ago, I had the opportunity to get my hands on a pre-production Reason frame from Chromag, and from the first ride, I knew this one hit different.

Chromag Bikes has always stood out to me for their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and that signature blend of rowdy and refined.

The frame itself is a work of art! Clean welds, thoughtful geo, and that unmistakable Chromag aesthetic. On climbs, it was efficient and lively, with just the right amount of stiffness to put power down without feeling harsh. On the descent, it was confidence inspiring when smashing down steep tech but also very playful in the air when stacking those abusive bike park laps. 10/10 for this bad boy, it rips!
